Agency and studio
Who we are & how we work
We make innovation that needs explaining something you can experience live: at trade fairs, events and on stage, in shows, exhibits and brand spaces. Strategy, design and technology come from one house, from the first idea to the person running the show on the event day. A boutique studio from Munich.
None of those. Stand build, event technology and venue come from partners we have worked with for years. Our part is the experience itself: concept, dramaturgy, media design, content, software, exhibits, operations. AR, realtime and touch are tools. What gets used is decided by the content.
Yes, as equals. In many projects an event agency sits at the table too. Media design, content and show technology are then ours, along with the responsibility for them. As an extended workbench we don’t work: we bring our own opinion, even when it’s inconvenient.
A senior core team plus a network of specialists. There are no long handovers between strategy, creative and delivery: the people who think up your project also build it. Often the very person directing at the end is the one who made the first sketch months earlier.
Working together
Process & timing
Depending on the format: Discovery around a week, Sprint two to three weeks, an interactive exhibit six to ten weeks, a show six to twelve, AI and tech formats four to ten. Faster is possible when it has to be: we built the Volkswagen Group’s Power Day in four weeks, entirely as a live broadcast with augmented reality.
With the Discovery: briefing call, potential analysis, two to three sketched idea directions, a recommendation with a rough budget range. From €3,000, around a week. The amount is credited against the Innovation Experience Sprint if you carry on. The typical path after that: Sprint, then Exhibit, Show or Future.
Within 24 hours. The request flow takes you four steps, with required fields only at the end. What comes back is an honest assessment with a recommendation. Including when we think a smaller format is the right one for you.
First of all your communication challenge, not a finished brief. Then a line to your internal specialists: together with them we develop the content and check whether it can be staged. Anything that can’t be told as a story drops out at this point. After that we go into delivery.
Pricing
Budget & terms
The entry points have fixed starting prices: Discovery from €3,000, Innovation Experience Sprint from €9,500, Interactive Exhibit from €35,000, Show Content System from €45,000, AI/Future/Tech from €25,000, Partner Retainer from €5,000 a month. Every project is quoted individually. The package sets the starting point and the minimum scope.
Yes. That’s exactly what Discovery and Sprint are for: at the end you have an idea direction, a feasibility assessment and a budget range you can pitch with in your own house. In the request form you can also pick “Open / let’s talk” for the budget.
Yes, in full against the Innovation Experience Sprint.
Both, depending on the project. Fixed price when the scope is settled. By time and materials when it’s still moving. Payment terms are usually 14 days after invoicing; on longer projects we issue interim invoices for work already done. Change requests within the usual scope are part of the deal.
Then we reassess the situation together. That’s exactly why we agree an approval process at the start: it records when which decision is fixed and what a change after that means. Both sides stick to it. Changes within the usual scope are planned for.
Yes. At BMW and the Volkswagen Group, as well as at several other large corporations, we are listed with our own supplier number and registered with a D-U-N-S number. Framework agreements and Ariba listings are possible. For your procurement that means: no onboarding from zero.
Compliance
Confidentiality & security
For us that’s the normal case. Most projects are vehicles, software platforms and technologies nobody may talk about until the curtain goes up. We are TISAX Level 3 certified. With this kind of project, confidentiality is the precondition for working together.
Yes, always. Information security isn’t a side issue here: we are assessed under TISAX at Assessment Level 3, the level for very high information protection needs, including prototype protection for events and shoots.
TISAX is the automotive industry’s assessment standard for information security, run by the ENX Association. Assessment Level 3 is the deepest level, with an on-site audit. For us it covers very high information protection needs and prototype protection for events and shoots. For you that means: audited processes, not just a promise.
On our own secured servers. Only people who need access to do their part of the work have it. We keep to agreed deletion periods. The framework for this comes from TISAX and the GDPR. The privacy policy of this website only covers the website, not the project work.
Delivery
Technology & operations
Yes. Rehearsals, media servers, playback and an operator on site are part of it. When it’s live, there is no second take. So we’re at the controls until the show is over. With exhibits we handle commissioning and briefing on site; at CARIAD at IAA Mobility, remote servicing came on top.
Realtime content (Ventuz, Unreal Engine and Unity among others), media servers and playback, augmented reality in live broadcast with camera tracking, touch and multitouch applications, gesture control, sensors. On the hardware side, touch tables, media walls, LED, Holobox and HYPERVSN. At the T-Roc launch, our own iOS AR app and a synchronous Vision Pro experience at the real vehicle came on top.
We build exhibits so they can be reused, including an operating concept for follow-up events. We build design systems for reuse too: at the Volkswagen Group, Techtalk is a format that runs across many stages. Anyone with ongoing demand takes the Partner Retainer from €5,000 a month.
The exhibit comes with installation, a briefing and an operating concept so your team can carry on. For ongoing support, maintenance and further development there is the Partner Retainer.
You acquire the full, unrestricted rights to use the work results. Source files, intermediate versions, code and copyright generally stay with us. A buy-out of the open files is possible if it is agreed and costed at the start of the project.
Usually yes. The systems we build can be connected to an editing back end; content is then exchangeable at any time. Where that isn’t planned for, we swap it for you on request as part of our work.

Reach & references
Volkswagen Group, CARIAD, BMW Group, MINI, Audi, Allplan, DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum, KUKA, PowerCo, Škoda, Nemetschek and AGCO Fendt. Many of them for years and across several formats, from a single exhibit to a stage format running at multiple locations.
Yes. Our clients are based in the German-speaking region, their appearances take place wherever their audience is: Geneva, Shanghai, Berlin, Wolfsburg, Salzgitter, Munich. Where it makes sense we work with local partners, in Shanghai for example with the event agency Zen-Est.
Where there are hard numbers, they sit with the project: 200% more qualified leads for ALLPLAN at BAU, German Design Award 2019 (Special Mention) for the Media Night in Geneva. The event ID from New Auto went on to run for two years as the group’s corporate design, even though it was never designed as one.
Awarded in 2023, together with a research allowance. The Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage issues it on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Not a bought award, but an audited certification of our own research and development work.
SHOOTA GmbH has existed since 2018. The experience behind it is older: more than twenty years in a wide range of roles across the industry. Eight permanent employees, plus 25 to 30 freelancers we work with regularly, and an international network of specialists.
